A SUSSEX BAROMETER A fine Georgian mahogany mercury tube wheel barometer with beautiful conche shell and intricate flower inlays with architectural top and brass finial. The case is edged with boxwood stringing. The 8” silvered dial is signed F.Cometti, Lewes with blue steel indicator hand. The concave section brass bezel is glazed with brass set hand and knob. There is a 10” spirit thermometer with silvered Fahrenheit scale. F. Cometti was a clock, watch and instrument maker working in Lewes in the early 19th century. Stock No: CA 653 Price: £1250 |
