TORTOISESHELL & ORMOLU MANTLE CLOCK

A fine tortoiseshell veneered case with ormolu mounts and feet and with a floral finial. The bezel has a convex glass in the opening door; the convex
enamel dial has Arabic hour and 5 minute numerals highlighted with coloured floral swags. The gilded hands are pierced and fretted. The 8 day movement has Brocot escapement and suspension and has rack strike sounding the hours and half hours on a gong. The backplate is stamped  S. Marti et Cie with Medaille d’Argente 1889.Height 36cms. Width 15cms. Depth 12cms.
