ORMOLU MANTEL CLOCK

An 8 day French mantel clock. The ormolu casesurmounted by a young boy riding on the back of abronze dog above floral garlands, palm leaves and ornamental scrolls and standing on scroll feet.The white enamel dial has Roman numerals and is inscribed Hry. Marc a Paris, the hands are blue steel Trefoil pattern. The 8 day round plated movement is stamped on the backplate with the early Hry. Marc Paris oval logo, it has anchor escapement, silk suspension and an early form of key adjustment. The countwheel strike sounds the hours and half hours on a bell. c.1840
