ART NOUVEAU MANTEL CLOCK

A stunning Art Nouveau pottery case decorated with yellow and lilac iris on a magenta background raised on a rectangular base with water lilies afloat
on a turquoise pond. The domed top has a brass gallery in the form of stylized flowers and stamens. The cast brass bezel has a floral relief and is set in a brass panel pierced and embossed with the sun and moon & with a cockerel and a bat on the sides. The enamel dial has Arabic numerals with centre decoration of a mandolin, tambourine and flowers. The 8 day movement has anchor escapement and rack strike sounding hours and half hours on a bell. c.1890
