ART NOUVEAU MANTEL CLOCK

A French pottery Art Nouveau case decorated with blue Tradescantia within the midnight blue rim. The enamel dial has Roman hour numerals and Arabic 5 minute markers, the dial centre has a gilt centre plaque with Fleur de Lys surround. The hands are blue steel and there is a gilt bezel with beveled glass in the opening door. The 8 day French movement has anchor escapement with Brocot adjustment. There is rack strike sounding the hours and half hours on a bell. The round backplate has the impressed mark
of Vincenti et Cie, Medaille d’argent 1855. c.1880
