A BOULLE MANTEL CLOCK
An elegant mantel clock featuring the much sought after green Boulle . This fine tortoiseshell and brass inlay continues all round this clock enhanced by the gilt/brass mounts and finial. The gilt/brass leg castings stand on a giltwood base with green velvet top. The gilt/brass dial has inset enamel Roman numerals and enamel centre with delicate blue steel Cathedral hands. The fine eight day movement has a Brocot escapement and adjustable Brocot suspension, there is a rack strike sounding the hours and half hours on a bell. The backplate has the imprint of Webster – Cornhill –London, the clock was made for Websters by J. B. Delettrez of 62 Rue Chablot, Paris and their logo and imprint is on both the case and the movement.
