          A Singing Bird Music Box

          An automaton Singing Bird music box in a rectangular case with blue enamel panels and gilt metal mounts. The top and front are decorated with flowers and signed ‘M. Seifert. The box stands on 4 turned gilt metal feet.

          When the start button is operated the oval hinged top panel rises to reveal the brightly plumaged Bird that moves and sings. When the song is complete the  panel closes.

             The Swiss mechanism is key wound from underneath with markings for Reuge Music, one of the finest makers of these exquisite  boxes. Circa 1960

          A Night Clock

          An unusually small night timepiece on a turned brass stem wit a marble centrepiece and base. The frosted glass globe dial has Roman numerals and moves around the steel time pointer.

          The globe dial is set on a small brass drum which contains the remarkably compact thirty hour movement with crown wheel and verge escapement operating the miniature pendulum.

          A small night light candle can be set on the holder under the globe to illuminate the dial at night. 19th century.

          A Casket Watch

          A continental silver miniature casket with pierced decoration. The casket has a hinged cover and back door. The casket is inset with an 18th century verge watch with chain driven fusee.

          The watch has a pierced and engraved backplate  with Kings head on the balance cock. It is signed William Brown London No. 1026. The 1.25” enamel dial has Roman numerals and Arabic 5 minute markers with blue spade hands..There is a custom made key for winding and front handsetting.

           William Brown, is listed as working in Piccadilly, London c.1800.
